行路 Walking Buddy Support
Compare walks around Hong Kong: the quickest, the most covered, without stairs, or step-free. Still stuck after reading this? Email support@jigsawtech.app.
How do I plan a walk?
Allow location, then tap Where to? and search for a place, a building, an MTR exit or an address, or press and hold anywhere on the map. The app compares up to four walks: Quickest, Most covered, No stairs (escalators and lifts instead) and Step-free (for wheelchairs, prams and luggage). Tap a walk to see it on the map, and open Directions for each step.
Can I start somewhere other than where I am?
Yes. Tap Your location at the top and search for a start, or press and hold on the map and choose Start from here. Walks start from where you are by default, so the app still needs location access.
What do the colours on the route mean?
The selected walk is coloured by what's around you: open air, covered, indoors, or on a footbridge. Grey means the government's walkway map doesn't record it. The legend on the map shows which colour is which, and each walk says how much of it is covered.
Crossings, stairs and lifts
Badges on the map show stairs, escalators, lifts, footbridges, subways and road crossings. A traffic-light badge means the crossing has lights; the directions say “at the lights” or “(no traffic lights)”. Tap any badge, or any part of the route, to jump to that step.
“There's no walking route”
Walks come from the government's walkway map of Hong Kong, so both ends need to be in Hong Kong and reachable on foot. If you're outside Hong Kong, tap Your location and pick a start in Hong Kong instead.
How are the times worked out?
Times assume walking at 1 metre a second, about 3.6 km an hour, and don't add time for climbs. Each walk shows how much it climbs, and a chart of its height along the way.
Toilets
Toilets near the selected walk appear on the map: public toilets, parks, shopping centres and MTR stations. Tap one for its opening hours (where the data lists them), its floor, accessible toilets, and, for MTR stations, whether it's inside the paid area.
Something on the walk is wrong or closed
Routes and facilities come from Hong Kong Government open data and can change, so always follow the signs and conditions on the ground. Tell us what you found (below) and we'll look into it.
Location isn't working
Check that Location Services are on and that 行路 Buddy may use your location while you're using the app, in your phone's settings. The app never uses your location in the background.
How do I send feedback?
Shake your phone anywhere in the app, or tap Settings → Send feedback, then write your message and tap Send. Add your email if you'd like a reply, and remove the screenshot if you'd rather not send it.
